Program 1 (set by default in this model) desulfates, charges, tests and maintains the battery directly with the two accessories included: The connector in permanent loop with waterproof plug and the setof battery clips (See the image).

Dual program: Thanks to the flexible, microprocessor-controlled DUAL program, OptiMate 4 can diagnose, recover, charge, check and maintain its battery directly or by selecting the second program, which allows charging via a 12 V port on a motorcyclecycle equipped with CAN bus.

Weatherproof enclosure: OptiMate 4 comes in an airtight, waterproof enclosure with wall hangers, perfect for batteries that must withstand rain and snow like those used in motor sports. It also includes cables that resist up to -40 °.

First battery test from the connection: The "Ready to run?" Battery test of 10 seconds hardand made at the time of connection, assists the user with several vehicles and provides a practical diagnosis of complex battery problems.

• Phases of desulfation: All the batteries lose load when they are stored, discharge that speeds up especially if the battery is in the vehicle. When a battery is discharged for a long time, it begins to sulphate. The sulphatethe battery loses voltage and capacity, which prevents it from assimilating the load. A conventional intelligent charger is not able to recover the lost capacity, but indicates that the battery is fully charged quickly and erroneously. OptiMate4 detects sulfation and applies a first "cure" to recover the battery: high voltage controlled by TURBO * at low current if sulfation isextreme or low voltage pulse sulfation for batteries installed in the vehicle for up to two hours. When the battery is ready to assimilate the charge, the collective charge begins. During the long-term maintenance charging mode, desulphating pulses are frequently emitted to prevent the battery from re-sulphating.

The TURBO desulfation phase works best when battingThe vehicle is disconnected from the vehicle as it is automatically inhibited if the vehicle electronic system is detected.
